The 8th annual City Nature Challenge (CNC) gets underway today! The CNC is a 4-day global bioblitz in which participating cities engage in a “collaboration-meets-friendly-competition”. Anyone can contribute to their city’s bioblitz. Please note: the list of participating cities will be posted in March 2024. Austin has participated in the past and observations from our area may count towards Austin’s results, if it is still on the list. Participation in the CNC is as simple as getting into the natural world, photographing the wildlife you see - like insects, plants, birds, etc. - and documenting your observations in iNaturalist. This is a great opportunity to get the family outdoors, enjoy nature, and contribute valuable data for scientists to analyze. Have fun!
