All levels and ages of birders are welcome to join this Texas birdwatching event, “GTBC23,” during the amazing spring migration. Birdwatching must take place in the span of April 15 to May 15, 2023. There are many tournament categories from which teams can choose, such as a “Big Sit” or “Adult Statewide Weeklong Tournament,” for example. There are very specific rules for all participants to follow. Fees for team registrations can vary considerably, depending in large part on whether a team is sponsored or independent and also on the specific category being entered.

Those fees raise money for Texas bird and birding conservation project grants. The associated conservation grant proposals are due by May 1, 2023. GTBC23 winners get to help choose which grant proposals to fund.
