Every fourth Saturday, staff at the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center lead a bird walk to help beginning birders find and identify some of the 300+ bird species that annually visit or reside in the 1,200-acre sanctuary. There are four diverse habitats for wildlife in the sanctuary: wetlands, woodlands, brushlands and grasslands. Travelling by foot, the guide will go over birding basics and the proper use of binoculars. This is a family-friendly program best for ages 5+. Advanced birders are also welcome to attend. The cost is $10/person for non-members (FREE for members). Register and find full details here.
