On a designated date in early January each year, teams of dedicated birders conduct the Christmas Bird Count - a survey of bird species within a 15-mile radius - for Burnet County. The activity is led by experienced coordinators, lasts the entire day, and results are tallied following a closely regulated process. This year the survey will be conducted on January 2, 2023.
