“Gardening for Monarchs & Other Wildlife Using Native Plants (Virtual),” Day 1, ONLINE, National Wildlife Federation

The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) is offering a 2-day, online only training session focused on the use of native plants to support Monarch butterflies and other wildlife. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 is Day 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, August 9, 2024 is Day 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fee for the class is $55/person.   • How gardening for monarchs benefits many other wildlife species

  • Importance of gardening with native plants

  • Components of a native garden

  • Creating native gardens, what to keep in mind

  • Basics of Landscape Designing (includes exercises)

The registration fee includes access to certain resources and a copy of the book, Attracting Birds, Butterflies, and Other Backyard Wildlife by David Mizejewski, National Wildlife Federation’s Naturalist. Trainers include some excellent speakers, two of whom have been speakers for HLBWS in years past: Christine Anastas, Kim Conrow, Craig Hensley, Lee Marlowe, and Rebeca Quiñonez-Piñón.
