HLBWS Monthly Meeting: “Make Your Yard Come Alive - Garden for Birds with Native Plants”

  • AgriLife Extension Service 607 North Vandeveer Street Burnet, TX, 78611 United States (map)

Master Naturalist Jane Tillman will explain how to create a bird-friendly environment in a presentation, “Make Your Yard Come Alive - Garden for Birds with Native Plants,” to the Highland Lakes Birding and Wildflower Society (HLBWS). Topics include plant and tree selection, landscape design, and gardening practices that help make yards more attractive to a wide variety of birds.

Ms. Tillman has documented over 90 species of birds by using such practices at her home, which is a Best of Texas Backyard Wildlife Habitat.

Plans for the morning include an 8:00 a.m. bird walk at Haley Nelson Park (weather permitting!) and some social time at 9:30 a.m. at the AgriLife building. Our business meeting starts at 10:00 a.m. and our invited speaker will present at approximately 10:30 a.m.
