The featured speaker for this final Zoom meeting of 2021 is Dr. C. Craig Farquhar, who will present Raptors of Texas at 10:30 a.m. [Please note that the business portion of the meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m.] Dr. Farquhar will begin with a broad overview of raptors. Did you know that the root word for raptors is the Latin “raptare,” which means “to seize and carry off”? Dr. Farquhar will narrow his focus to diurnal raptors, like eagles and falcons, and then specifically zero in on the raptors in Texas, what they look like and the regions of Texas where they can be found.
