“Hummingbirds of Austin,” Zilker Botanical Garden

Shelia Hargis will present “Hummingbirds of Austin” as part of the Zilker Botanical Garden’s Summer Speaker Series. Shelia is a long-time birder and former president of the Texas Ornithological Society. Participants will learn how hummingbirds live their lives, how to attract the tiny birds to their yards, and discover the numerous species of hummingbirds that call the Austin area home. After the presentation, which is co-sponsored by the Travis Audubon Society, Shelia will lead a walk through the gardens to see what hummingbirds might be observed. While there is not a fee to attend this particular event, there is an admission fee to access the Zilker Botanical Garden. Parking space is limited and admissions should be purchased in advance.
