Craig Hensley, one of two Texas Nature Tracker Biologists with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, will present information about how to use iNaturalist for maximum benefit. At an individual level, this tool is a great way to document and learn about species in one’s immediate natural environment. At a community level, the tool supports researchers and conservation scientists by supplying data that have been reviewed for precision. Participants will learn about the “Species of Greatest Conservation Need” in the Dallas area so that they can remain alert for these species while documenting observations in iNaturalist. Please note: The first half-hour of this session is social time. At 7:00 p.m. some announcements will be made, and the program will begin immediately after the announcements. Registration, which is required for this free event, can be completed here.
