“Nutritional Ecology of Honey Bees in a Changing Landscape,” Clear Lake Ch., NPSOT

Dr. Juliana Rangel, Texas A & M, is the featured speaker at the Clear Lake Chapter NPSOT meeting. The meeting is both in-person (UHCL, Bayou Building, Forest Room) and via Zoom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the meeting convenes at 6:40 p.m., and the presentation commences at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Rangel will cover basic information about the building blocks of honey bee nutrition, and then present her research using the geometric framework for nutritional ecology. The session will finish with an opportunity to test results on the preferred macronutrient ratio by bees when colonies are infected with a virus.
