Purple Martin Workshop, Travis Audubon Society

  • Hornsby Bend Center for Environmental Research 2210 Farm to Market Road 973 Austin, TX, 78725 United States (map)

Instructors Andy and Julia Balinsky will focus on the life cycle of Purple Martins and how to become a Purple Martin “landlord” or helper. Topics will include: Purple Martin birdhouse maintenance routines, how to record and send in nesting data to be compiled nationally, hands-on nest preparation, and discussion at the Hornsby Bend colony. Travis Audubon will follow up with attendees about future opportunities to engage in pertinent activities. Class participants should plan to take notes and be prepared for some outdoor time during the hands-on portion of the workshop. Cost is $40/person for non-members; here is where to register for the class. Spaces are limited.
