On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will pass over Burnet County during the noon hour. County emergency management officials caution that thousands of visitors will come to the Highland Lakes area to view the eclipse, and advise residents to prepare accordingly with adequate stores of food, fuel, etc.
