Welcome to 2026, everyone! The Highland Lakes Birding and Wildflower Society typically meets on the first Thursday of each month from September through June. Due to the New Year’s Day holiday, in January 2026 the meeting will be pushed to the second Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Meeting room doors open at 9:30 a.m. for social time and light refreshments. The business meeting starts at 10:00 a.m., and an invited speaker delivers a presentation immediately after the business meeting. If the weather permits, there is a pre-meeting bird walk at 8:00 a.m. at Haley Nelson Park in Burnet.
